Bringing the JOY back to your relationship
We love love. We love joy. We love helping individuals and couples find their joy again to live a life full of love and creativity. Therefore, we love to teach partners how to bring back the joy or “spark” that they may have lost along the way due to the realities of being coupled in a busy world. Let us share with you some ideas we have found to be a tried and true way to begin.
Let’s be honest, In the daily grind of life, it's easy for the spark in a relationship to fade. Busy with work? New Baby? Struggling with mental health concerns? This is not only common but will most likely happen at some point. But with a little effort and intention, you can rekindle the passion and excitement you once shared!
1. Make Time for Each Other
One of the most important things you can do is to make time for each other, even when life is busy. Schedule regular date nights, even if it's just for a walk in the park or a coffee date. Dates do not have to cost money. Google fun at home date ideas and you will be rich with examples.
2. Communicate Openly and Honestly
Communication is key in any relationship, but it's especially important when you're trying to reignite the spark. Talk to your partner about your needs and desires, and be open to hearing their perspective.
3. Touch Each Other More
Physical touch is a powerful way to connect with your partner and build intimacy. Make an effort to touch each other more, whether it's holding hands, hugging, or kissing.
4. Try New Things Together
Doing new things together can help you create new memories and shared experiences. It can also help you to break out of your routine and see each other in a new light.
5. Be Spontaneous
Spontaneity can add excitement and adventure to your relationship. Surprise your partner with a weekend getaway, a romantic dinner, or a night out dancing.
6. Show Your Appreciation
Don't forget to show your partner how much you appreciate them. Express your gratitude for their love, support, and companionship. We love the 5 to 1 rule. Give more appreciation and kindness out than criticism.
7. Forgive Each Other
Everyone makes mistakes. If you want to rebuild the spark in your relationship, it's important to forgive each other for past hurts. Holding on to anger and resentment will only damage your relationship further.
8. Seek Professional Help
If you're struggling to reignite the spark in your relationship on your own, consider seeking professional help. A therapist can help you identify the root of your problems and develop strategies for resolving them.
